SANCHEZ, MARTHA FAMILY CHILD CARE

Based on observation, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above which poses a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care. During the indoor and outdoor inspection, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) observed that licensee had left an opened bottle of cleaning chemicals in the backyard in an area that was accessible to the children. LPA also observed that one of the bathrooms had personal hygiene products (shampoos, soaps, toothpaste, mouthwash) under the sink, inside of drawers, and inside of the shower, which were all accessible to the children. LPA also observed some dish washer pods under the kitchen sink, which were also accessible to the children.

Resolution: Licensee states that she will add child safety latches under the bathroom sink in order to make the cleaning supplies inaccessible. She also stated that she may decide to move all of the hygiene products to the garage. She does not plan to keep cleaning supplies under the kitchen sink but agreed to add a safety latch if she does decide to store cleaning supplies there. Licensee immediately removed the bottle of the cleaning fluid that was left outdoors. Licensee to send proof of correction via email or text to Community Care Licensing Office by the Plan of Correction due date, 12/01/2023.

Based on observation and interview, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above which poses a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care. During the indoor inspection, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) observed that none of the off limits rooms were made inaccessible to the children and were missing door knob spinners. The doors were not locked as well. Licensee commented that she has had problems keeping children out of the off limits rooms in the past.

Resolution: Licensee states that she will be adding door knob spinners on the laundry room door, and each of the off limits bedrooms in the hallway. LIcensee to send proof of correction via photos by email or text to the CCLD office by the Plan of Correction due date, 12/01/2023.
