This renewal inspection was initiated by licensing staff and concluded on 05/02/2024, between the hours of 10 am to 12:30 pm. There were 13 preschool children present, with 4 staff supervising, across 2 classrooms. The children were engaged in the following: outside time, bathroom breaks, reading, learning, hand washing, story time, music, song, lunch, getting ready for naptime, and other organized activities. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration; physical plant; staffing and supervision; programming; medication (no meds were on site); special care and emergencies; and nutrition. A total of 5 children files, and 5 staff files were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined that there was (1) non-compliance with an applicable standard. An unannounced inspection was conducted on 6/8/23 from 10:30 am to 11:55pm. The inspection was initiated in response to a complaint related to center activities and the physical plant. 5 staff members were interviewed. Observations were made in classrooms and playground. An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted from 10:00 am to 11:30 am. There were 40 children in direct care of 8 staff members supervising. The children were observed completing Mother's Day activities, coloring, playing in small centers with dinosaurs and home living toys. There were no children with diagnosed food allergies or medications on site. 3 staff records, 3 children's records, children's injury reports, the emergency preparedness plan, emergency drill records, and first aid kits were reviewed. The center is current on the new policies required by the standards.
