This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A monitoring inspection was initiated on 8/26/2021 and concluded on 9/07/2021. A self-reported incident was received by the department regarding allegations in the areas of diapering. The director was contacted by telephone to conduct the investigation. The inspector emailed the director a list of documentation required to complete the investigation, video footage was reviewed and interviews were conducted. The evidence gathered during the investigation supported the self-report of non-compliance with standards or law and violations were issued. Any violations not related to the self-report, but identified during the course of the investigation can be found on the violation notice. This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review and a virtual tour of the program. A monitoring inspection was initiated and concluded on 8/23/2021. The director was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 62 children present, ranging in ages from 4 months to 5 years, with 15 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 4 child records and 4 staff records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
