LPA met with Facility Representative, Sandra Gedeon. Facility is currently on winter break so no children were present during inspection. The facility was toured to conduct a Health and Safety Inspection. This program currently operates in 4 rooms (Room 109, Room 123, Room 127 and Room 128) Monday through Friday: 7:45AM - 5PM. The preschool classrooms were inspected for age appropriate furnishings, equipment, and adequate storage for children’s belongings. LPA observed the presence of working carbon monoxide detector, smoke detectors/fire alarms and fully charged fire extinguishers that is accessible throughout the facility. There are no pools, hot tubs or other accessible bodies of water. Cleaning supplies/toxins are stored inaccessible to children during the inspection and all required postings are present. Children bring AM/PM snacks and lunch from home. Facility has back up if children forget their snacks at home. Children also bring their own water bottles from home. LPA observed the preschool play yard and observed, tarps and building overhang for shade. No hazards were observed on the play yard on today's date. LPA reviewed 4 staff files and 6 children files. Facility Representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
