The purpose of todays visit was to inspect the pool where the preschool is located. LPA observed the pool is located 87 feet directly across from the preschools entrance, enclosed in a separate room, the entries are approximately 120 feet from the preschool, on the south west side of the building. LPA observed a inoperable alerting device on the entry of the day care's entry. LPA advised that the alerting device be made operable or the exit be made inaccessible to children in care . The facility was cited a zero tolerance, type A violation of section 101238(e);All licensees shall ensure the inaccessibility of pools, including swimming pools (in-ground and above-ground), fixed-in-place wading pools, hot tubs, spas, fish ponds or similar bodies of water, through a pool cover or by surrounding the pool with a fence. Licensee must inform the parents/guardians of children in care at the facility and to parents/guardians of children newly enrolled at the facility during the next 12 months via form LIC-9224 Acknowledgement of Receipt of Licensing Reports. Civil penalties were assessed under facility number 197408601 A door latch was added to the entry door during todays visit.
