Based on observation and interview, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above which poses a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care. LPA observed an HVAC unit in the backyard accessible to children in care. The location of the HVAC unit is next to the emergency exit where children have access.
Resolution: LPA advised Licensee to ensure the HVAC unit is inaccessible to children in care. LPA advised Licensee to install a barricade around HVAC unit or to move HVAC unit to an off-limit and gated section of the backyard. Licensee to submit proof of correction to Licensing Program Analyst Bill Billones via email at bill.billones@dss.ca.gov no later than 10/16/2025.
