Upon arrival, the LPA observed two infants sleeping in cribs. Both infants had pillows and blankets in the crib with them. This poses an immediate health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

Resolution: The licensee took all objects out of the cribs. The LPA gave the licensee information on Safe Sleep regulations and reviewed them with her. The licensee agrees to write a statement of what the regulations are and how she is going to implement those regulations in her day care. This statement will be reviewed at a later visit.

The licensee did not have her carbon detector mounted up or plugged in. The licensee had the detector in a cabinet. This poses a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

Resolution: During the inspection, the licensee put a new battery in and plugged the carbon detector in. The LPA checked that it was working.

During the inspection, the LPA observed two drawers in the bathroom to contain items such as deodorant, perfume, toothpaste and razors that were accessible to children. Also there was shampoo and other items in the shower that were placed down low and accessible. LPA further observed in the kitchen, two drawers that contained sharpie markers, a lighter, tools and pointed scourer's. This poses a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

Resolution: The licensee removed some of the items, during the inspection. The licensee agrees to put baby locks/latches on drawers that contain keep out of reach items in them. A return visit will take place in order to clear this deficiency.

Based on record review, the licensee had last conducted a drill on 9/2021. This poses a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

Resolution: The LPA gave the licensee a fire drill log. The licensee agrees to conduct a fire drill and document it by the due date of 8/26/22.

The licensee had no documentation/log of the infant 15 min checks. This poses a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

Resolution: The LPA gave the licensee infant 15 minute check logs. The licensee immediately started using them.

Based on record review, the licensee had not updated her Mandated Reporter training. This poses a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

Resolution: The licensee agrees to update her mandated reporter training and have it available for review by the due date of 8/26/22.
