The inspection aimed to discuss the new Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, which requires the Lead Testing of water in the Child Care Center. All Child Care Centers located in buildings constructed before January 1, 2010, must have their water tested and post the results by January 1, 2023, and every five years after the first testing date. Based on the annual inspection conducted on June 20, it was found that the Center was in a building that was constructed before January 1, 2010, which, according to the Written Directive, required its drinking water to be tested for lead contamination levels on or after January 1, 2020, but no later than January 1, 2023. However, as testing was not completed by the Center prior to the deadline, a type B deficiency was cited. See LIC 809D on the next page. Today's report, September 26, 2023, appeal rights, and notice of the site were provided to the Director. LPA informed the Director that the site visit notice must be posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
