Based on observation, interview, record review, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above in which poses/posed a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care. LPA Garcia observed a 17 month old infant in care to be sleeping on a cot with a bean bag placed on her back, while infant was sleeping on stomach. LPA informed the licensee bean bag must be removed immediately. Licensee stated, the child's mom insists on infant sleeping that way because whe will not sleep otherwise. Licensee stated she is aware of safe sleep regulations.
Resolution: Licensee states that she will no longer place bean bag on top of the infant and inform mom that she cannot place anything heavy on top of the child, even if it helps her sleep longer. Licensee states she will find alternative safe ways to help the child sleep longer.
