Based on interview and record review, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above and was not aware she needed to perform a daily inspection of the drowning prevention safety features and safety equipment before opening the facility and maintain a log of the inspections to be provided to the department upon request which poses a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

Resolution: Once the licensee has purchased the equipment required per AB 2866 that requires specific drowning prevention safety features for all family child care homes, she will begin to perform daily inspections of the drowining prevention safety features and equipment and provide the LPA with proof of the log for one week.
