Based on observation and interview, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above; licensee stated she was not aware of the new pool regulation and did not have a pool alarm, which poses/posed a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

Resolution: Licensee, via telephone, stated that she understands that she must purchase a pool alarm by 10/30/25 that meets department regulations and submit proof to LPA via email to Gerald.Poindexter@dss.ca.gov

Based on observation and interview, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above; Licensee was unaware of new pool safety regulations and did not have life ring visible from the swimming pool and readily available for immediate use, which poses/posed a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

Resolution: Licensee understands she must purchase new life ring by 10/30/25 and submit proof to LPA via email to Gerald.Poindexter@dss.ca.gov

Based on observation the licensee did not comply with the section cited above; licensee was unaware of new pool safety regulation and did not have rescue pole with body hook visible from the swimming pool and readily available for immediate use, which poses/posed a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

Resolution: Licensee understands she must purchase new rescue pole with a body hook by 10/30/25 and submit proof to LPA via email to Gerald.Poindexter@dss.ca.gov

Based on observation and interview, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above. The licensee did not maintain a daily pool inspection log, which poses/posed a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

Resolution: Facility representative stated that she will inform the licensee of the requirement to conduct a daily inspection of pool safety and to document this daily pool safety inspection. Send proof via email to Gerald.Poindexter@dss.ca.gov

Based on record review and Licensee's own admission, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above by not maintaining a log of 15 minute checks documenting labored breathing, signs of distress, and position which poses/posed a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

Resolution: LPA provided Licensee a copy of safe sleep log to start logging infant's under 2 years old sleeping their behavior every 15 minutes. Licensee stated she will implement this immediately and let her helpers know as well. LPA also provided Licensee various Safe Sleep resources via email. Licensee stated she will review all resources and provide LPA a statement stating she understands the regulations no later than POC due date.
