LPA met with Director, Nayren Aquino and explained the purpose of the inspection. Present during today's visit included Director, 16 toddler children with 4 staff. Facility is a licensed combination program for infant and preschool program with toddler component. Facility submitted an application requesting a decrease of capacity for the preschool/toddler program. As a toddler classroom is being removed from program to accommodate the increase of capacity for infant program. Facility is removing Classroom #2 from toddler program and reducing toddler program capacity form 36 toddlers to 18 toddlers. Facility submitted an application to regional office on February 27, 2025, to reduce preschool overall capacity from 124 to 106, as classroom #2 will be utilized in the infant program. Preschool program capacity will decrease to 88 preschool age children and 18 toddlers for a total of 106. LPA reminded Director that infants, toddlers and preschool children are not to commingle. LPA reminded Director that toddler component must remain in groups of 12 children. Classroom #2, previously a toddler classroom, was measured today for the infant increase of capacity. Classroom #2 was measured for 750.35 sq ft. The total allowable capacity measured for Classroom #2 that will be deducted from preschool capacity measures for 750.35 sq ft. equaling 21 children. Toddler capacity in classroom #2 and #4 was 36 toddlers. Per previous inspection, Classroom #2 was approved for a maximum 18 toddlers. LPA will decrease preschool capacity by 18 toddlers. Preschool program will continue to use classrooms #4 (toddler classroom), #7, #8, #9 (preschool classrooms) and classroom #5 LTLE (Learning through life experiences classroom). Per Director, toddler children will share outdoor playground with infant program. Director provided LPA with a rotation schedule for both infant classrooms and toddler classroom. Preschool will continue to use the two other playgrounds. The infant outdoor area was previously measured at 1038 square feet allowing for 13 infants. LPA reminded Director to request an outdoor space waiver since there is not adequate outdoor square footage for 34 infants and 18 toddlers. LPA also reminded Director that infants and toddlers cannot commingle. Infant/toddler outdoor area was equipped with ride on toys, playhouse, and crawl through tunnel. Outdoor flooring is artificial grass to cushion falls and is equipped with sunshade sails to provide shade to children in care.
