ZHOU FAMILY CHILD CARE

LPA observed multiple clorox sprays in the off-limit Kitchen countertop area of the home, behind the sink. This area is not gated off, but the chidlren in the home are less than 5 years old and are unable to reach. Additionally, LPA observed multiple hand sanitizers and a "Clorox" toilet bowl cleaning solution in the on-limits restroom. Although this is being downgraded to a Type B due to their being a latch and step stool blocking off the area in the on limits restroom, and children being unable to reach items in the kitchen, this still poses/posed a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

Resolution: Licensee agrees to submit either a written understanding or a list of which items are ok to keep behing a latch and which items are to be kept locekd. This is due to the department no later than the POC due date.

During an infants nap time, LPA observed a blanket folded under the sleeping infant in a crib. Licensee did not remove the blanket. This poses/posed a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

Resolution: Licensee agrees to go online at ccld.ca.gov and watch videos of "infant safe sleep". Licensee may also find videos in her language that talk about Safe Sleep in California for Infants and submit a written understanding of what a safe sleep envioronment should look like.

Based on record review and licensees own admission, the licensee did not have a record of 15 minute sleep logs on file for infants in care. Licensee stated she does them and throws them away. This poses/posed a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

Resolution: Immediately, licensee will begin to implement 15 minute sleep logs for any infants up to the age of 24 months. Proof of these logs is due to the department on 03/07/2025.

During todays inspection, LPA observed an infant sleeping with a sleep sack, restricting their arms and legs. This poses/posed a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

Resolution: Licensee agrees to go online at ccld.ca.gov and watch videos of "infant safe sleep". Licensee may also find videos in her language that talk about Safe Sleep in California for infants and submit a written understanding of what a safe sleep environment should look like. This is due to the department no later than POC due date.

Based on observation, the licensee did not comply with the citation above which poses a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care. LPA observed licensee did not have a fire extinguisher. Licensee stated the fire extinguisher was being filled.

Resolution: Licensee will purchase a new fire extinguisher 4/23/24 and send CCL proof.
