In the on-limits restroom, LPA observed hazards in the shower, 2 under sink cabinets and the 3 drawers on the vanity. These areas had multiple hair and body products, as well as trimmers and shavers accessible to children in care. This is being downgraded to a Type B citation due to there only being 1 child in care. This poses/posed a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

Resolution: During the inspection, licensee was able to immediately place these items inaccessible.

The on-limits restroom did not have poisons behind a lock. An accessible can of paint was observed between the on limits kitchen and dining area. Lastly, the laundry room contataining poisons was not kept behind a lock. However, the area had a gate preventing access. This is being downgraded to a Type B due to there only being 1 child in care. This poses/posed a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

Resolution: During the inspection, licensee tied a zip tie around the latch to prevent the daycare child access for the time being. Although this provided a temporary solution for the child in care, licensee is asked to provide proof of a more permanent solution to keep items behind a lock. This is due to the department no later than the POC due date.

Based on record review, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above. Although licensee was able to provide proof of Mandated Reporter Training (MRT) for "general" training, there was no proof of MRT for "Child Care Providers". This poses/posed a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

Resolution: Licensee agrees to gain access to the training online at madatedreporterca.com and submit proof of certificate for "Child Care Providers", no later than POC due date.

Licensee agrees to provide proof of fire and disaster drill documentation to LPA by COB 10/13/2023 via email. Licensee agrees to conduct the fire and disaster drill and document the fire and disaster drill once every 6 months.
