LPA Ortega met with Director Rosie Gurrola and tour the facility according to the facility sketch. The purpose of today's inspection is to conduct a case management inspection regarding lead exceedance referred to as an Action Level Exceedance (ALE) of over 5.5 parts per billion (ppb) in the water at the facility. Palmdale Regional Office received notification of water lead exceedance at the facility resulting from a recent re-sample test on 1/21/2023. The water lead sampling test results are based on the report exceeding lead levels in the upper yard water fountain (D). The ALE results of 18.0 ppb were identified in area(D) per facility sketch. The results are exceeding the ALE water of 5.5 ppb safe levels. According to facility water fountain (D) is not being utilized for drinking and other means for drinking water are available. Facility has placed the water fountain (D) out of service and shut off the vale until a solution is made. Filtered water is readily available to children during hours of operation. A water pitcher with safe drinking water levels and disposable cups are readily available for children during day care hours. The facility has posted, email and attached to the app ClassDojo a parent notification to authorized representatives (parents, legal guardians, ect.) of water sample results ALE and corrective action plan in writing(copy provided).
