Based on observation and interview, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above which poses a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care. At 10:20 am, LPA observed that the licensee had a firearm stored in a locked large safe, which was inside of a locked room in the backyard, that was inaccessible to the children. The ammunition was also stored in the safe but it was not locked in a separate area.
Resolution: Licensee stated that she was not aware that she needed to keep the ammunition separate from the firearm. She stated that she would purchase a separate locked box for the ammunition. Licensee to take photos of the locked box for the ammunition and email or text it to CCLD by the Plan of Correction due date, June 13, 2023.
