Based on LPA Clayton observation of an infant in care restrained in a low feeding high chair, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above which poses an immediate health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.
Resolution: Licensee will create an written action plan & complete a declaration regarding discontinuing usage of restraints. The plan must include positive measures that do not violate personal rights of children. The plan must include the licensee assistant. Licensee will review CCL videos https://ccld.childcarevideos.org/family-child-care-providers/childrens-personal-rights-in-child-care/ Licensee will be referred to TSP. The department will inform the licensee of any further required POCs.
Based on LPA Clayton observation of a play structure constructed by the licensee without the departments knowledge or approval, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above which poses an immediate health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.
Resolution: Licensee will have the stucture completely removed no later than Friday November 1, 2024. Licensee has made the structure inaccessible to children in care during the inspection. LPA Clayton will conduct a tour of the backyard via Zoom meeting on Monday November 4, 2024. Licensee acknowledges understanding that prior to getting another play structure the department must be notified in advance.
