Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jillinda Chandler and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Peter Flores made a subsequent visit, that was conducted on 10/18/2021, LPA met with Angie Bass, Preschool Director, for the purpose of conducting a 1- year annual required inspection. The preschool is located on the Temple Beth AM synagogue campus. On today Fridays the program has early dismissal at 2 o’clock. LPA toured the facility indoors and outdoors for health and safety compliance per Title 22. Upon arrival LPA observed the following of the classrooms: 1. Room T1 (2-3-year olds) a ration of 3 staff to 12 children 2. Room 104 with a ratio of 3 teachers to 15 children 3. Room 103 a ratio of 3 staff to 13 children 4. Room 105 a ratio of 3 staff to 15 children 5. Room T2 a ratio of 3 staff to 13 children, 6. Room 101 a ratio of 2 staff to 15 children and two parent volunteers 7. Room 109 a ratio of 4 staff to 12 children 8. Room 107 was closed during todays visit. Facility is operating within capacity and ratio limitations. LPA observed classrooms to have age appropriate materials and equipment. Furniture in each classroom is found to be in good repair and age appropriate. There is adequate heating, lighting and ventilation, classrooms were at a comfortable temperature. Drinking water is readily available in each classroom using filtered water and personal water containers. Isolation area for sick students is in the director’s or nurse office on a cot. LPA inspected each classroom and found them to be clean and free from any potential hazards. Fire extinguishers were observed, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were present, first aid kits with the required supplies; scissors, tweezers, ointment, bandages and thermometer Age appropriate toilets and sinks were in operable condition. Bathrooms contained the necessary essential for sanitation; toilet paper, soap and paper towels. LPA observed storage in the restrooms, director was informed that these items must to be removed, items were removed during the inspection. The center is not serving meals at this time due the Covid pandemic. There is a full prepping area in between the T1 and T2 classroom, LPA did not observe and foods or conditions that could pose contamination or spoilage in this area Cleaning supplies are out of reach to the children and is stored separately in a locked room outside of classrooms. Inspection of the outdoor play area was conducted. Play equipment was securely anchored with adequate resilient cushioning material underneath and around the perimeter, classroom T1 and T2 have separate yard. Drinking water is readily available on the outdoor play space using filtered water and personal containers. There was adequate shade and resting areas for the children in care. The outdoors areas were fully enclosed, no hazardous conditions were observed. Staff and children files were reviewed and found to be good condition.
