Based on LPA Clayton observation of matches, lighters and bleach wipes in the bathroom accessible and within reach of children in care, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above which poses an immediate health, safety or personal rights risk to children in care.
Resolution: Licensee placed some of the items in a locked cabinet in the bathroom and removed others from the bathroom completely. Licensee will ensure that any and all poisons, detergents/cleaning compounds, medication and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children are made inaccessible to children in care.
Based on LPA Claytons record review of Guardian and both the licensee and the volunteer assistants admission that she was fingerprinted only yesterday (clearance not yet recieved) but had been working at the FCCH since August 13, 2024 the licensee did not comply with the section cited above which poses an immediate health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.
Resolution: Licensee will ensure that that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home.
