LPA Thompson was greeted by the Assistant Director, Heidy Quinonez and was granted entry into the facility. The director guided LPA Thompson on a tour of the facility. There were 3 teachers and 9 children present during the visit. Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018 requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCC’s) constructed before January 1,2010 to test their drinking water for lead contamination between January 1, 2020 and January 1, 2023, and then every five years after the date of the first test. Community Care Licensing was notified that lead water testing conducted at the facility on 2/04/2023 exceeded allowable limit for lead. Samples testing over 5.5 ppb/ugL and above is considered an exceedance. The Purpose of today’s visit is to follow up on the lead testing results of Action Level Exceedances (ALE) and conduct an inspection. During today’s visit LPA Thompson observed water outlets identified on facility sketch. LPA Thompson confirmed with assistant director that Outlets E& F samples were identified as exceedance of lead and shall remain inoperable. LPA observed outlet locations. LPA observed hose bib labeled F outside in the children play area, the outlet has not been shut off. LPA placed a not in use label over outlet. LPA observed outlet E located outside in an off limits area inaccessible to children.
