LPA explained the reason of the inspection and a tour of the center was conducted both inside and outside. The center is located on the premises of Washington Elementary school on 211 Learning Lane in Lindsay, CA. Licensee has changed classrooms starting August 12th since that's when school started. LPAs advised Cheri that children should not be utilizing this new classroom (29) prior to licensing approving the classroom. The previous classroom that was being used (3) is now being utilized by school age children so cheri stated that they had no other option than to move children into this classroom. The playground which is out in the front part of the classroom is still under construction. LPA advised cheri to make that inaccessible to children by having a temporary gated fence. The licensee is keeping the same capacity of 24 preschool children ages 4-5 years old. This program will operate on a traditional school year schedule and will only have a morning session from 7:45 AM to 11:00 AM. Cheri Stated children usually have breakfast in the school cafeteria. Lunch or snacks are not provided since its only a half day program. Staff will utilize the staff bathroom located outside out in the school premises. Ill children will be isolated in the nurses office and use the bathroom located there. The classroom was observed to be clean and free of toxins. The cleaning items/supplies will be stored in the work room which is inaccessible to children. LPA observed that the furniture and equipment appeared to be safe and in good condition. A working carbon monoxide was installed. There are plenty of age appropriate items, tables, & chairs to meet the requested capacity. Room measurements were taken and reviewed with Cheri. The total inside preschool area measured to an approximate 851 square feet which will accommodate the requested preschool capacity. There is adequate storage space available for children's belongings. Toys and equipment are age appropriate. There is a total of 2 toilets and 4 sinks/hand washing fixtures which will accommodate the requested capacity. There is a water fountain inside the classroom and children have their own water bottles.
