LPA explained the reason of the inspection and a tour of the center was conducted both inside and outside. The center is located on the premises of Roosevelt Elementary school on 461 W. Hickory in Lindsay, CA. Licensee has requested an increase of capacity since a classroom is being added (#2) and is going from 24 preschool children to 48 preschool children ages 3-4 years old. The two classrooms being used are going to be preschool classroom #1 (which is already licensed) & Preschool Classroom #2. Preschool children started utilizing classroom #2 since August 12th since that's when school started. LPAs advised Cheri that children should not be utilizing this new classroom (#2) prior to licensing classroom #2. This program will operate on a traditional school year schedule and will have two sessions. Monday-Friday 7:45am-10:45am for AM session and 11:45am-2:45pm for PM session. Food is provided by the centralized kitchen and then brought over to the classrooms where is prepped and delivered to the children. Staff will utilize the staff bathroom located inside classroom #2. Ill children will be isolated in the nurses office and use the bathroom located there. The classrooms were observed to be clean and free of toxins. The cleaning items/supplies are stored up high in the kitchen area. LPA observed that the furniture and equipment appeared to be safe and in good condition. A working carbon monoxide was installed. There are plenty of age appropriate items, tables, & chairs to meet the requested capacity. Room measurements were taken and reviewed with Cheri. The total inside preschool area measured to an approximate 1,729 square feet which will accommodate the requested preschool capacity. There is adequate storage space available for children's belongings. Toys and equipment are age appropriate. There is a total of 4 toilets and 4 sinks/hand washing fixtures which will accommodate the requested capacity. There is a water fountain inside the classroom and outside.
