There are two classrooms at this facility. Classroom A and B which runs Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM with an overall census of 32 children present. Ramacher Head Start runs a school year schedule. LPA toured the facility, both indoors and outdoors to inspect areas accessible to children in care. LPA confirmed the facility has a working telephone service at (559)-264-7120. The LPA observed all required licensing forms to be posted in a visible location for authorized representatives to view them. All children are under supervision, including visual supervision, of a teacher at all times. There is a ratio of one teacher supervising no more than twelve children in attendance. Capacity and limitations as specified on the license are being maintained. Both Classrooms had an electronic sign in/out system for the usage of parents and/or authorized representatives. There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises. There are no firearms or ammunition allowed or stored on the premises. The LPA did not observe disinfectants, cleaning solutions and other dangerous items to be accessible to children. There were no poisons observed on the premises accessible to children. Licensee is aware that poisons are required to be locked and inaccessible to children. During the inspection, LPA observed furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. The facility has sufficient age-appropriate furniture, and equipment. Playground equipment is in safe condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. The facility has a complete first aid kit, including bandages, scissor, thermometer, gloves and a first aid manual. All toilets and hand washing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating condition. (To be continued on 809-C.) The facility uses an igloo dispenser and disposable cups to provide children water when they are outdoors. All floors are clean and safe. All kitchen, food preparation and storage areas are clean. All foods/beverages capable of rapid spoiling are stored in covered containers. Menus are posted at least one week in advance where an authorized representative can view them. The facility is free of flies, insects, and rodents. Solid waste storage containers have tight-fitting covers and are in good repair. Facility has one or more functioning carbon monoxide detectors that meet the statutory requirements. There is a working fire extinguisher and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. Fire drills are conducted and documented with the date, time and how many children present, every six months. Capacity and limitations as specified on the license are being maintained. At least one person trained in CPR and Pediatric First Aid is present when children are at the facility or at offsite activities. The name of the child care center director or fully-qualified teacher(s) designated to act in the director’s absence has been reported to the Department. LPA reviewed a sample of children’s files and observed files were complete with immunizations records, health records, and contact information for authorized representative and or relatives or others who can assume responsibility for the child. LPA reviewed a sample of staff files and observed files were complete with health screening, immunization records for influenza, pertussis and measles and files had current mandated reporter training. LPA discussed the Community Care Licensing website www.ccld.ca.gov which will provide access to resources such as forms, regulations Provider Information Notices (PINs), and Quarterly Updates.
