MARCIAL FAMILY CHILD CARE

During the tour of the home, LPA observed an excer-saucer in the outdoor backyard area. Licensee stated that it is utilized when the children go outside for playtime. This poses an immediate health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

Resolution: Immediately, licensee removed the excer-saucer and placed it in an off-limit area of the home. Licensee agrees not to utilize the excer-saucer during daycare hours for any of the daycare children.

During the tour of the outdoor area, LPA observed a wooden gate standing on it's side, separating the left side yard from the play area for the children. This wooden gate was standing and kept in place with multiple long bricks standing up on both, the longer and shorter sides of it. LPA placed their hand on the gate and the gate easily swayed. The bricks as well as the unstable gate both pose an immediate health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

Resolution: Licensee agrees to get a stable gate and replace the one that is in place. Due to the weather, the children will not be playing outside until possibly the next day. Before use, licensee agrees to submit proof of proper gate barricading the side yard to the main play area. Picture proof of due to the department no later than the POC due date.

Based on observation and licensees own admission, the two cribs kept for the infants in care did not have a fitted sheet on the mattresses. Although licensee has been keeping up with other safe sleep regulations, there were no fitted sheets that the licensee uses for infants that utilize the cribs. This poses an immediate health, safety/ personal rights risk to persons in care.

Resolution: Licensee agrees to purchase at least two fitted sheets for the two infants who utilize the cribs, and submit POC no later than the POC due date.

Based on record review, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above in 2 out of 2 persons. The licensee and assistant did not have the correct mandated reporter training (MRT) on file. MRT for "general" was on file, but what was needed was "Child Care Provider" training. This poses/posed a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

Resolution: Licensee agrees to complete training for "Child Care Providers" on the website, mandatedreportertrainingca.com Licensee agrees to submit certificate of completion for herself and her assistant, no later than the POC due date.
