Based on observation, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above regarding the pool and spa located in the backyard that did not have pool gates that met regulations. The pool was completely filled with water at the time of the inspection. The pool gates were not self-latching/self-closing, which posed/poses an immediate risk to the health, safety, or personal rights to chidlren.

Resolution: Licensee will comply with regulations by fixing the spring to both pool gates to ensure the gates self-close/latches. Licensee states she will close on 11/21/2024 to ensure that the pool gates are fixed immediately. Licensee will provide photos and videos to LPA by 11/21/2023 to ensure the gates have been fixed. LPA Herrera will conduct a POC inspection at a later date to clear the POC.

Based on observations during today’s inspection, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above. LPA observed feces and urine scattered throughout the backyard from licensee’s pet miniature pig. Furthermore, LPA Herrera also observed a frying disk with cooking oil attached to a propane tank upon stepping to the backyard. Additionally, LPA Herrera observed that two out the three play yards were in disrepair and soiled, which pose a potential, health, safety or personal rights risk to children in care.

Resolution: Licensee Estrada stated that she will ensure to clean the backyard and clean the play yard by plan of correction due date, 11/21/2024. Additionally Licensee Estrada will discard the play yard that is in disrepair immidiately.

The pool was completely filled with water at the time of the inspection. The pool gates were not self-latching/self-closing, and the pool fence was unsecured and was able to sway which posed/poses an immediate health, safety, or personal rights to chidlren.

Resolution: Licensee will comply with regulations by fixing the broken latch from gate #1 and will add springs to ensure the gates self-close/latches on both gates. Licensee will also ensure the pool fence is properly secured as it currently sways. Licensee states she will close on 10/12/2023 to ensure the pool is fixed immediately. Licensee will provide photos and videos to LPA by 10/12/2023 to document the completion of the plan of correction.
