Based on observation, record review, and interview, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above as a wooden frame with metal mesh was not securely attached to the wall to prevent access to the fireplace which poses/posed a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.
Resolution: Licensee to make the fireplace inaccessible to children in care, as soon as possible. Licensee to send Licensing Program Analyst picture(s) of the safety precaution. Licensee stated did not know the screen had to be securely attached.
