LPM and LPA met with Farideh Bavafa, the owner/director. There were 26 children and 2 additional staff members also present. During the course of a complaint investigation completed by LPA, and support from LPM, interviews were conducted, and observations were made. It was discovered that staff at the facility have withheld water from children that have asked, out of concern for them having an accident while napping. The owner/director admitted that this occurred with at least two children because they have accidents during nap time, and they have been trying to avoid the accidents. The director explained that normally children can easily access their water bottles but nap time is about 12:30pm and they stop water around 12:15pm so they can get ready to nap. See 809D for deficiency being cited today. This report will remain on file for 3 years. An exit interview was conducted and appeal rights were provided. A notice of site visit was provided and the owner/director was advised to ensure it is posted for 30 days.
