The purpose of the visit was an announced pre-licensing inspection at the facility to ensure that health, safety and personal rights as required by Title 22 and Health and Safety Regulations governing California Child Care Centers will be met. There were 50 children present during this inspection. This is an emergency wildfire capacity increase application for 66 children ages 2 to entry into the first grade. The child care center will operate Monday – Friday 7:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. The fire clearance was approved on 09/11/2024. LPA toured and measured the on-limits areas. The facility has a total of 4 classrooms. Children will have access to 6 sinks and 6 toilets. Classroom measurements are: The indoor measurements contain a total of 2,087.63 which will not accommodate Licensee request for 66 children. Based on today’s measurement the facility capacity limit for indoor space is 59 preschool children. Outdoor Play measurements are: The outdoor activity space was previously measured during the Prelicensing visit which came to a total of 5275.52 and will accommodate Licensee’s request for 59 preschoolers. Indoor/Children’s Area: The following was observed. Parents will enter and exit through the gate that requires a security code located on the side of the facility. LPA advised facility there should be a plan in place on how such records will be immediately printable upon request for inspection and audit by program staff. For best practice purposes, facilities should have a plan in place on how records would be backed up, and how they would be made available in the event of a power failure or disaster. LPA reference director to review PIN 18-03.1-CCP. Water is provided to children through a Brita type water picture for outdoor and indoor activities. There are operable carbon monoxide detectors located in rooms 1 and 3. LPA observed First aid kit with the required materials including a handheld digital thermometer. Furniture and equipment were observed to be maintained in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. Tables and chairs were observed to meet the needs of the children. There are cots mats for napping. All play equipment and materials used by children were observed to be age-appropriate. There are cubies and hooks for storage of children clothing and personal belongings. There is a refrigerator located in the kitchen that requires a thermostat to regulate the temperature. The classrooms have central air or units for heating and cooling. The classrooms were clean in good repair. Windows were in good repair free of chipping paint, dirt, insects or debris. Classrooms have adequate lighting. The facility is equipped with landline telephones service located in the office. Medication is stored in classroom #1 in a cabinet inaccessible to children. Medication that requires refrigeration will be stored in the kitchen refrigerator inaccessible to children. The required postings are posted in the directors office were parents and visitors to review. Each licensee shall have a disaster and mass casualty plan of action. Ill children will use the directors office for and staff restroom for isolation. LPA observed fire extinguishers with inspection dates of 3/14/2024. LPA observed trash cans with fitted lids. LPA did not observe any bodies of water on the premises. Owner stated there are no bodies of water the premises. The owner stated disinfectants, cleaning solutions, and other items that are dangerous to children are stored in a closet the restroom located next to classroom #1 inaccessible to children.
