CASWELL-MEARS, MOLLY FAMILY CHILD CARE

Based on LPA observation, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above. LPA observed unlocked ammunition in an accessible room of the child care home which poses an immediate health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

Resolution: Licensee immediately moved the ammunition to a locked safe where other ammunition was secured. Licensee is to review regulations regarding Operation of a Family Child Care Home and provide the Department a written statement indicating they have read and understood the regulation and will ensure compliance.

Based on LPA observation, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above. LPA observed that the existing pool alarm is not ASTM compliant which poses a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

Resolution: Licensee is obtain a pool alarm that is ASTM compliant and provide the Department documentation showing equipment is ASTM compliant.

Based on LPA observation, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above. LPA observed that existing life ring is not U.S. Coast Guard approved which poses a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

Resolution: Licensee is obtain a life ring that is U.S. Coast Guard approved and provide the Department documentation showing equipment is U.S. Coast Guard approved.

Based on LPA's observations, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above, as today, LPA observed a locked safe in the licensee's office containing both firearms and ammuniton. Ammunition was not locked and stored separately from firearms as required, which poses a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

Resolution: Licensee understands that ammunition shall be stored and locked separately from firearms. Licensee stated she will transfer the ammunition into a separately locked & inacessible storage box by 6/23/22. Licensee indicated she will provide LPA with proof of correction photos by 6/23/22.

This requirement was not met as evidenced by records review. Today, upon review, Licensee was unable to provide proof of a fire & disaster drill completed within the past six months. This poses a potential risk to the Health, Safety, or Personal Rights of children in care.

Resolution: Licensee stated that she will conduct and document a fire & disaster drill, and submit a copy of the log to the Fresno Community Care Licensing office by 6/23/2022.
