Based on observations, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above as the LPA observed three different drawers in the kitchen to contain items such as batteries, pointed scissors, vitamins and pointed meat thermometer, that were assessable to children, as the child proof latches were not working. This poses a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.
Resolution: During the inspection, the licensee removed keep out of reach items from the drawers until the child proof latches could be fixed. The licensee agrees to send pictures to the LPA, showing the child proof latches being secured by the due date of 11/12/21.
