(a) The child care center shall be clean, safe, sanitary and in good repair at all times to ensure the safety and well-being of children, employees and visitors. (1) The licensee shall take measures to keep the center free of flies, other insects, and rodents.
During the indoor inspection of Classroom #3, LPA observed the classroom did not have a working carbon monoxide detector. Per Staff #3 (S3), the carbon monoxide detector was not working in the classroom and an order had been placed since December 2022; however, the classroom had not receive a working carbon monoxide yet. This poses a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

California Lead Action Level at Child Care Centers (a) California’s Action Level for lead in water at Child Care Centers is 5 ppb. (b) Testing results with fractional ppb readings of 0.5 ppb or greater shall be rounded up to the nearest whole number, before comparing to the Action Level. (1) A result with values of 5.5 ppb or greater shall be deemed an Action Level Exceedance. (c) If testing indicates an Action Level Exceedance at any water outlet, the water from that outlet is deemed not safe to drink and an immediate response pursuant to section 101704 shall be required. This requirement was not met evidence by based on record review provided by Licensee, Classroom 3 (IL16023-06), Classroom 3 (IL16023-07) and Classroom 8 (IL16023-08) has a result indicating out of compliance over (ALE) 5.5 ppb, which poses a potential health, safety, or personal rights risk to persons in care.
